We're all going to be D3STR0Y3D!!1!! (again)

Yet more crap from increasingly prominent clerico-fascist Rick Scarborough*, who didn't exactly distinguish himself when he "explained" the shootings in Aurora a few days ago:

Christians either by their not voting or by voting with their emotions in the last election put Barack Obama in the White House. I happen to believe personally, this is not Vision America, this is me speaking, I believe he is the worst president in the history of the country, I believe he is a dangerous president, and I believe America will not survive for more years under his leadership. I can’t imagine a Barack Obama unleashed without another election to face.

Uh...Rick? Rick? Most US presidents of recent vintage haven't been "unleashed" from anything by being re-elected; matter of fact, the guys you'd probably prod your zombie-like "congregation" into voting for (Nixon, Reagan, Bush the Second) faced major public scandals or massive declines in popularity during their second terms in office, and ones you probably wouldn't have recommended (Truman, LBJ, Clinton) had issues that dragged them down after getting voted back into office. How were any of them "unleashed" by getting re-elected, exactly?

But Rick is even funnier concerning the Chick-fil-A brouhaha. To wit:

It will take thousands of churches and millions of Christians fasting I believe at this point to move the heart of God to relent from the judgment that we have worked so hard to get. Sixty million aborted babies, debts out of control, which is nothing more than generational theft, right now we take a good Godly man like [Chick-fil-A founder] Mr. Truett [Cathy], who founded a company and devoted every resource he had to the advancement and the welfare of his employees and the people who patronize his store, and homosexuals are seeking right now to shut it down. We deserve judgment. We’ve got to have a brokenhearted group of people who understand that, who cry out to God and who partner with us.

It's funny how Rick connects the dots with his favorite set of crayons. The entire issue of Chick-fil-A's owner giving money and moral support to professional groups of bigots like the Family Research Council and people taking offense to it is magically turned into something else entirely, largely through the use of the usual religious right dog whistles (abortion, "generational theft", etc.) and hand-waving about how they need "brokenhearted people"  to automatically rally to their side when the chips fall - unless they're not white, of course. Then they really don't count.

Let's be blunt about this: considering the degree to which flacks for Chick-fil-A have lied about why the Jim Henson Company pulled their line of Muppets toys from the chain, they don't need any more help from loudmouths like Scarborough (or everyone's favorite example of healthy eating, Mike Huckabee) to deepen the hole they've dug for themselves - especially since nobody's called for a national boycott of the chain. But stupid is as stupid does, I guess.

(*Well, he's got nothing on Bryan Fischer in terms of sheer output of crazy, but give him time.)
