ScienceBlogs and PepsiCo: Uh oh
A while ago, I posted on the subject of some of the nonsense infecting both the Huffington Post and ScienceBlogs: while the former doesn't seem to have retracted that piece from the Discovery Institute's hacks (at least AFAIK), there's a good deal of contributor dissatisfaction with SB's decision to allow Pepsi a voice at the science blogging table they don't deserve. For one thing, PZ Myers has apparently gone on strike; for another, Orac is mulling over his (its?) future there and details other people jumping off the ship here and here.
The lesson to be learned is simple: scientists put a good deal of stock in their ability to be taken seriously when they write. SB's management apparently doesn't. And poor editorial decisions, like elections, have consequences.
