The Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny. Such are the ways of the "to be read" pile, especially if it's primarily based on used books you bought at past conventions.

(Another reason why: I read Nine Princes in Amber years ago. Nah. Make that a couple of decades ago, possibly when I was still in high school. No kidding.)

You're out of luck if you think I'm referring to the chunky horror novelist or the WGN radio personality. Nope, this is the mushwit congressman from some bizarre paste-eating district in Iowa; if there ever was a prime candidate for the Senator Bilbo Award for brazen yahoo/bigot voter rabblerousing, he'll be a strong competitor to win it this year.

OTOH, he's got competition - and unsurprisingly, they're from Arizona.

(And no, there's no such thing as a Bilbo Award. There should be. Particularly in election years.)
