Ed Brayton has mentioned a blog called the Encyclopedia of American Loons and it seems to be entirely worth your while, as are predecessors like Quintessence of the Loon and the Usenet-centered Net.Legends FAQ (and no, I'm not blowing my own horn because I'm listed as a contributor at the end - much) if you're keeping track of current and former people with serious cognitive dissonance problems.
