Pointless iteration of music posts past

Well, not really. Apparently, Shiftless Decay - a compilation of Detroit-area punk and garage bands on the X Records label - is one of those releases that psychically burrowed its way into my pointy little head despite the fact that all I have to go on it is a Reader review that I can't find from a few years ago.

The only reason it's mentioned again is that I previously posted about it - and can't find the original since I apparently didn't tag it.

"Didn't go to work today" ennui-inspired observation:

Want to see the Royal Wedding? Want to really see it? Great. Let's just say that I didn't think it deserved the coverage it got (especially in the wake of this mess, which currently has an estimate of nearly 300 fatalities) from the likes of Today, where it ended up either as the lead story or quickly followed the tornado postmortem this morning.

Sure, you need glitzy distractions from the miseries and drudgery of everyday life. Who doesn't? Just be careful how much attention you waste on them and how fanatically you want those distractions to be followed by the media. Otherwise, things like this can happen, and they're no fun at all.
