Allow me the ability to be utterly serious for once.
Although I know that everyone goes through cycles of emotional wreckage and rejection in their lives, the example of George Sodini is one that will give even the most bitter single pause for overreacting to a bad breakup, lack of success in the dating world or any number of slights (actual or otherwise) from a person they were interested in who didn't return the favor.
In short, no prospective - or actual - romantic partner is worth dying for. They're not worth killing, either. They're especially not worth going on a killing spree for, regardless of whether the ultimate motivation is suicide by cop or not. I don't give a rat's ass how hurt you were by a breakup or how soured on life you ended up when you found out that someone wasn't the person you thought they were or wasn't interested in returning your affection. Yeah, it hurts. Rejection always does. But anyone who does what Sodini did is ultimately a narcissist with a homicidal need to wallow in self-pity while killing innocent people, and we don't need any more of them. Ever.

And that's the reason why I mistrust personal improvement gurus, ma'am. It's not just that it's a multi-million (-billion?) dollar industry that preys upon insecure people and promises all sorts of panaceas that are less effective than 19th-century tonics; it's one that promises borderline *psychos* something they can't have, and that may be far, far worse.
