According to one of the aggrieved parties himself - Juris Jegens - the Westin Chicago North Shore is apparently making nice with some (if not all) of the peeps banned from that hotel in the wake of the vandalism at Reenactor Fest 6 (reminders here and here) and even sent him a letter making nice (real nice - he apparently even got preferred customer points) and a Westin credit card application, to boot.
My first reaction was "awright"!
My second reaction, however, was "what?"
No real explanation, either.
Go figure.

Keep me informed.

Well, *there's* a possible explanation of the Westin/Starwood's backpedalling.

True, but he never got a room at the Westin except *possibly* for cons other than Capricon. That might've had something to do with it.
(Quick question: you wouldn't happen to be Brice's S.O., wouldja? If you *are*, I humbly apologize for hearing him speak and mischaracterizing him as being lit up when I first ran into him last Windycon. I know a lot of people with that
sort of accent who are shnockered more often than not, so no offense was intended. No, honest. >:)
If you wanna give further details about your end of the story, feel free to email me or have Brice email me. The address that's connected to this page should be visible somewhere.
