Recently, I posted something foo quickly for my own good (the thing on George Ryan's most recent attempt to get released from prison, this time due to his wife's terminal illness) and have since deleted it since my grasp on some of the subject matter was a little more feeble than I'd like. My apologies to unhipster and suburbancowboy for the obvious outcome (i.e., the deletion of their comments along with the post - I wish that didn't happen automatically, but it does).

There's no need to apologize. You reconsidered your position in the light of new information.

BTW: I do agree with unhipster's opinion that Ryan does not deserve any special consideration compared to any other prisoner.

Thanks, but I goofed. Plain as that. At least I'm capable of admitting an error, though.

I also agree with unhipster that Ryan doesn't deserve to cut to the front of the line in getting early release; there's a whiff of "I'm important, so give me a break no else should get" there that's just as irritating in Ryan's case as it would be in Lindsay Lohan's or any other pampered Hollywood celebri-tard like her. It just doesn't occur to me that we should let pols or other VIPS off the hook any sooner than Joe Whatever just because they *are* VIPs.
