Schadenfreude: the wingnut lobby on the fall of DOMA and Prop 8

Well, SCOTUS has spoken on the subjects of the Defense Of Marriage Act and Proposition 8. They're gone. Kaput.

And now the crazies take over the debate, a day late and a dollar short.

Please note that the only real reason that I'm posting links to some of the more insane statements referenced via Right Wing Watch and elsewhere is to detail how some people Just Don't Get It with a vengeance. There are only two reasons I can think of why anyone would continue to whine and bitch in the deranged fashion that's documented below, and they're (A) to gin up fear among viewers and listeners in order to raise more money from them and (B) because they - sadly - actually believe their own nonsense about how Satanic Communist Muslims are out to destroy America through gay marriage. As far as I'm concerned, you can take your pick.

Submitted for your approval (?): the likes of Bryan Fischer and Mat Staver, Joe Pitts and Tony Perkins, Jennifer LeClaire, Louie Gohmert, Michele Bachmann, Tim Wildmon and Sandy Rios, Tim Huelskamp, and - not to be outdone - Antonin Scalia.

Keep in mind that of the above list of people who chose to have self-induced attacks of apoplexy over this issue, no less than four are actual elected members of the House of Representatives. And one is a Supreme Court Justice.

Makes you wonder what things will be like in 20 years when a cthonic entity is not visibly in charge of the planet and we all seem to be - you know - probably better off as a society because of this ruling, doesn't it?
