What's worse: a Democrat who takes tons of money from pharmaceutical and health insurance PACs and votes precisely the way you'd expect, or a Republican whose brain seems to have melted and then seeped somewhere where it shouldn't be?

At this moment, it seems to be up to a coin flip.

Here's the fun part: while Baucus is a perfect example of the former, Franks is *beyond* amusing as an example of the latter and is a perfect example of someone finding out that their 15 minutes of fame will only mean that people will point at the and laugh for roughly half the length of your average sitcom.

Furthermore, Baucus' actions can be seem as rational, if slimy and motivated entirely by cynical self-interest. Franks just comes off as a weirdo turd some congressional district in Arizona dumped on America's front porch.
