Not that I want to seem too reliant on Dispatches, but Ed posted another recent beaut concerning creationist/ID-endorsed biology textbook "disclaimers", this one coming from Mississippi. There's even a response by my alter-ego in there somewhere, if you can find it.

Well, at least it died. Louisiana's still moving forward with revised education standards, IIRC.

Louisiana has one of the worst - if not *the* worst - education systems in the country, so this doesn't surprise me in the least. Some public servants are perfectly willing to dig a deeper, fouler latrine ditch to dump their state in if they think it'll get them re-elected. Louisiana serves as proof of this.
