I have extremely mixed feeling about the Huffington Post. While I've cited some of their political posts in the past, certain warnings concerning their science and health articles veering towards quackery by Orac and others have made me slighly more than uneasy quoting them on anything else.
Unfortunately, they're not alone. Even a source I trust (and, in fact, cite) on the subject of science and medicine - ScienceBlogs - seems to have made one giant step in dog product by allowing Pepsi a free hand to shill for themselves by touting their own "product portfolio".among other things.
As much as I realize that web sites - devoted to blogging or otherwise - need to earn money in order to keep functioning, I have to wonder what's worse: letting the religious bigots of the Discovery Institute start another round of the "Darwin inspired Nazism" lie at the Post, or letting a certain degree of corporate self-promotion taint the editorial direction of ScienceBlogs?
