Why do public educators in Louisiana insist on being such easy shills for creationism?
This is especially nauseating:
"We shouldn't just jump into this thing, but we do need to look at it," (Livingston Parish school board president Keith) Martin said. "The American Civil Liberties Union and even some of our principals would not be pleased with us, but we shouldn't worry about the ACLU. It's more important that we do the correct thing for the children we educate."
The correct thing? The correct thing?
The correct thing to do would be to teach kids actual science instead of forcing someone's sectarian theological nonsense down their throats, but school boards in certain states seem to be increasingly staffed by people too wrapped up in their own sense of self-righteousness to know the difference - or even care.
