As stated before, I've never voted for the Da Mare despite leaning heavily Democratic in most elections. Having a tendency to vote for Party A is not the same as endorsing all candidates of Party A with your vote. If it were, Joe Lieberman would still be affiliated with a party in order to be annoying instead of pretending he's an original thinker which merely makes him more annoying.
Making the assumption that party preference and unthinking loyalty to a candidate are one and the same is roughly equivalent to the Trekkie thinking that people who don't think that Star Trek: TOS is The Bestest Thing Ever are merely Wrongheaded Individuals Who'll Come Around if they see The Menagerie for the 702nd time just like you have.
